FOLLOWERS ON CONSOLE

Follower changes in the console versions of the game

INTRODUCTION

Following patch 2.7.0, followers were reworked and their skills were changed. This new feature was implemented differently on consoles and as a result, some changes do exist that impact the gameplay and affect the follower choices on consoles.

FOLLOWER BUGS

There is an uncommon bug that causes the follower to lose all of their items. It can happen when you join someone's game or someone joins your game and the follower is auto-dismissed. It's an old console-only bug and the only way to avoid it is to manually dismiss your follower before joining or hosting a public game. Click here to view the bug on the official forums.

SCOUNDREL

The Scoundrel's Night's Veil skill is extremely powerful, creating a cloud every 30 seconds which grants the player 100% critical hit chance.

As opposed to the PC version, rolling Cooldown Reduction on the scoundrel's gear does work on consoles, allowing to reduce the cooldown on Night's Veil's to 10~ seconds. This makes the scoundrel a very powerful choice on consoles, allowing players to benefit from the cooldown while still using the immortality token.

Thus, it is beneficial to gear the scoundrel similarly to the templar and rolling CDR on his gear. Click here for example d3planner.

The gearing will depend on the rings you pick. It is recommended that you pick Oculus Ring as one of your rings for the extra damage boost. For the second ring:

Unity ring will provide you with 50% damage reduction if you're also wearing one.
Ring of Royal Grandeur will allow you to equip Born's shoulders and torso for further cooldown reduction.
Wyrdward will stun the enemies around you and help proc Bane of the Trapped.
